I am directed by Ir. Secretary Amery to refer to the letter from this Department of the 14th of May last transmitting for the observations of the Lorda Commissioners of the Admiralty, a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong submitting a proposal for the formation of a Hong Kong Division of the Royal Naval

Volunteer Reserve.

2. Mr. Amery would be glad to learn whether their Lordships are now in a position to furnish their

observations on the proposal.
